MY STORY

Behind the Screen

Growing up, I was always able to express myself using my voice. As a kid, that got me into trouble. Now using my voice has turned into my career.

It was my earth science teacher who helped me combine my love of speaking with my love for science. She urged me to pursue meteorology as a career. Eight years later and I graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast Meteorology.

From there, meteorology has given me more than I ever thought possible. The science has taken me across the country chasing tornadoes, into classrooms teaching children about the weather, and onto television screens helping to keep people safe when they don't know who to turn to.

As a member of the American Metrological Society, I strive to stay up-to-date on the latest happening in the weather community around the world. I've also committed to earning my Certified Broadcast Meteorology (CBM) seal.
